Common Positive User Comments
The variable weight dialing is extremely simple to use. Intuitive and fast... Feels well made, easy to change weights for different exercises...
Common Negative User Comments
The way they're constructed, they are a bit clumsy and stick out a lot, causing you to maybe bump things a lot if you're in a fairly tight space... The are a bit clumsier to use as they are wider than standard dumbbells... It's difficult to get a stable lift because it wants to wobble from side to side...The dumbbell itself is horribly unbalanced and difficult to manage.
The quality is not as good as it used to be. I wish I hadn't paid for the name... one of the weights gets a little more stuck pulling it out and putting it back in...
I wish the grip was knurled instead of rubber.

Bottom Line Summary
The 1090 version of BowFlex is more durable than the BowFlex 552, but at a steeper price. For about the same money there are better made and designed Adjustable Dumbbells. These are Not Drop Proof.
